Our team of volunteers provide culturally appropriate support for African Australians and New Diverse Small Community Groups throughout Victoria.

• Settlement process assistance
• Support members in times of need
• Welfare checks – in person and via phone
• Provide referrals and advocacy to other services
• Empowering communities in cross-cultural competencies
• Support strong family relationships through respect and value building
• Community development initiatives for self‑resilience and economic growth
• Vocational training & professional development opportunities for individuals and small community groups
• Information sessions on issues of concern to the community
• Recreational and wellness programs for all members including youth and senior members
This is ongoing and happens while we run our periodical funded programs that demonstrate highly effective partnerships with both government and community‑based organisations to deliver responsive community-driven projects.

AWAFN with its network of independent organisations, leads in proactively responding to diverse settlement and integration needs of Victorian African Australian women, youth and their families. We will do this through:
